MiBand from xiaomi not charging

Today I have experienced (and solved) charging issues with my xiaomi MiBand.
Background: original MiBand was charging just fine previously. I have 2 of them where one has stock firmware. I am using the other one.
When connected, MiBand was not showing any signs of connection. From time to time it was showing 3 dots for a moment (last one was blinking). About 1-2 seconds later it looked  if it was dead.
Solution: clean the MiBand, try connecting once more. If it is still not working then hit it gently - it should start vibrating.

What are the symptoms / LEDs when connected to the charger? Did you get the single blink when connected or disconnected?

You could try connecting this once it is completely discharged. Or open it (damaging the case) and do a hard reset. Description available on the Internet. But I would try connecting it and then hitting it again several times from different directions first...

Thanks, got the same problem too and after hitting / tapping the band for several times and also plug - unplug several times, it started charging.

Once it is paired you can check battery level with apps like notify & fitness my band or miband tools or open band or even the xiaomi's app (which is a bit crappy). If the led's are dead... what is the reason? Maybe whole band is dead? Anyway, it is pretty cheap so you can buy new one.

Lately, I experienced a similar problem with my Mi Band. Not of the popular solutions I found online works. I discovered a new one. I let it absorb heat. The batt is charging after heating my Mi band. - Teknolohitura
